Early Intervention and Diversion Center
The overarching goal of the Early Intervention and Diversion Center is to increase diversion opportunities and services for all youth throughout the county. The secondary but equally significant goal of the EIDC is to identify behavioral health issues for youth at the earliest point in the youth justice system. Through the EIDC, each youth will be screened for potential behavioral health issues. The EIDC will work together with mental health clinicians to develop comprehensive services for youth in order to decrease their likelihood to reoffend. This will allow youth to be referred to appropriate services in lieu of formal court processing when community safety is not at risk.
EIDC
Youth will be screened for appropriate diversion level and services recommendations. Diversion is a voluntary service offered by the Court to support families without the formal court process. Youth can be assigned an Intervention Specialist or Care Coordinator to oversee their case. Intervention Specialist will keep in contact with community vendors to monitor youth and family progress in diversion services. Care Coordinators will be assigned to youth and families that need additional behavioral health support. They facilitate team meetings and are able to keep in contact with youth and families to monitor diversion progress. Referrals to Clinical Staff for additional behavioral health assessment is available.
