Mediation

What is Mediation?

“Mediation” is a structured process in which the parties work with a mediator to negotiate a voluntary agreement.

What is the Mediator’s Role?

A mediator is a person who facilitates communication and negotiation between the parties to assist them in reaching a voluntary agreement regarding their dispute. Mediators receive special training in order to be qualified to conduct mediations. The mediator must remain impartial and neutral during their involvement on the case.

Mediators are not judges or magistrates, and they do not weigh who is right or wrong. The purpose of mediation is to explore possible solutions.
