Study Specifics
A research team from Nationwide Children’s Hospital is conducting a study related to teen driving safety. The goal of the study is to determine how to improve teen driving behaviors through parent communication training.
An in-vehicle electronic device and a smartphone app will be used to detect the teen’s risky driving behaviors. The device is small and will be able to detect if you are speeding or if you brake too hard. You will be able to see data depicting your driving behaviors on your smart phone.
Parents will also be asked to participate in a 30-minute one-on-one communication training session via a video call with a communication specialist, who will coach parents about effective communication and driving safety with their teen. Participation will last for 6 months, and you will be compensated for your time.
- Teen participant payment: Up to $240
- Parent participant payment: Up to $220
If you are interested in participating in the study, please see the information detailed in the pre-trial order you received from the Court and available on the Court’s website and contact the researchers.
